On October 4, I presented a State of the Industry: Connected Cars webinar for ReadWrite Labs. Together, we released a Connected Cars Landscape, which is an update and expansion from the landscape published with in 2016.
The transportation technology sector has expanded significantly since I last did a market landscape on connected car tech in 2016. Here’s a landscape that takes a deeper dive into autonomous vehicles (AV). I also included Smart Mobility because as we envision the self-driving world, it’s worthwhile to have the context of data and smart mobility services.
Association For Corporate Growth - ACG Silicon Valley is putting on an event “Islands of Autonomy” covering topics related to autonomous vehicles and mobility services. Across the world, driverless vehicles is disrupting mobility. But the adoption of this new transportation mode will not be immediate and everywhere.
The automotive tech industry reached an inflection point on March 18 when a Elaine Herzberg was tragically killed by a self-driving car. This was the first fatality of this kind on record. For years, industry experts have been anxiously anticipating this event to see how the industry and society would respond.
